Using awareness and the least amount of effort possible, this afternoon of movement exploration with help you release tension and stiffness in your hips, increase your mobility and walk with more ease & fluidity.
Somatic exercises are small movements done slowly and with awareness. They help you increase your movement awareness and reduce pain and tightness that result from stress, trauma, illness or habitual patterns. Somatic exercises are a type of neuromuscular re-education that allows you brain and body to reconnect, and find your natural way of moving, free from discomfort and pain.
Hanna Somatics is an extension of The Feldenkrais Method. It empowers you to regain control over your movement & your own self-healing capacities.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. You may want to dress in layers as the body’s temperature may drop as you do these movements.
